Roof Replacement on Hawk Ridge Rd

Hawk Ridge Rd in Chapel Hill was unlike anything else in our project log, a geodesic dome home with hundreds of triangular roof facets needing precise shingle work across the entire spherical surface. There is no comparing this to a standard pitched roof. Each panel had to be cut and fit individually, and the seams between facets demanded a level of detail you only learn through patience. We installed 33 squares of GAF Timberline Ultra HDZ in Barkwood, the warm earth tone settling beautifully into the wooded surroundings. The dome now reads as one continuous, weather-tight surface, and the home stands as one of the most distinctive projects we have ever completed. Total project: $11,925, completed August 2025.
